Nanocrystalline Soft Magnetic Material FINEMET
Hitachi Metals developed the first nanocrystalline soft magnetic material in the world, named “FINEMET™”. FINEMET™ has high saturation flux density and high permeability. It also has stable temperature characteristics. FINEMET™ provides excellent performance in electromagnetic noise suppression and contributes to energy saving. It will allow reduction in size and weight of electric and electronics devices as well. It is our hope, “FINEMET™” will be the best solution for your application due to its unique soft magnetic properties.
FINEMET EMC Components
As IT and electronics devices improve in its performance, EMC regulations for those devices tends to be tighten. It requires higher performance in noise suppression for electric components and parts. Hitachi Metals provides a series of excellent EMC components using FINEMET™, the first nanocrystalline soft magnetic material in the world, to meet EMC requirement. FINEMET™ EMC components allow superior technical solution (e.g. excellent electromagnetic noise suppression performance and size reduction) and low energy loss for your application.
Common Mode Choke

FM coils: Excellent electromagnetic noise attenuation performance over a wide frequency range
FM-H coils: Coils for three-phase AC 400V power lines

Beads / Cores for Surge Absorbers
FINEMET™ surge absorber cores have high saturation flux density, high pulse permeability and excellent temperature stability. Those cores show high performance in suppression of surge current from recovery current of diode and switching of semiconductor such as MOS-FET and IGBT. FN-F series is a low leakage current EMI filter for three-phase AC power lines, which has no capacitor between terminals and ground This EMI filter realizes compact in size and excellent electromagnetic attenuation property by using three phase FM coil. It demonstrates remarkable performance for the application which requires suppression of leakage current (e.g. medical equipments).
Magnetic Shielding Sheet
MS-F and MS-FR series are magnetic shielding sheets made of laminated FINEMET™ tape with PET films. Those products are flexible and light in weight. They show excellent magnetic shielding performance at the frequency range from DC to several hundreds k Hz. Heat treatment is not required due to its small deterioration of magnetic properties from forming and bending. Therefore it is easier to handle compare to conventional magnetic shielding material, such as Permealloy.
Noise suppression sheet
Absorshield™ K-E series is electromagnetic noise absorption sheet, a composite material made of FINEMET™ powders and rubber. Absorshield™ shows excellent performance in electromagnetic noise suppression at the frequency range of 100MHz to 10GHz. Absorshield™ K-E series is halogen-free material and certified flammability standard UL94 V0.
